Looks like a draw then - superb batting once again from Sarwan. He's already got two centuries and 90-odd and now he's looking at a double-century. Incredible series, albeit against a very ordinary England attack. As for the referral rule, I really don't get it. How on earth was Chanderpaul given out when the replay shows the ball will clearly miss the stumps. That was a clear misjudgment from the umpire and Chanderpaul can rightly feel hard done by.

Off to Trinidad now for 700 vs 500 and West Indies get a draw for the most negaitve pitch preparations ever.

Can't be much fun being a batsman in cricket these days. If my maths is right, in that match there were 1628 runs, 16 wickets and an average partnership of 101.75. blink.gif

It could be a hell of a lot worse - have you seen what's happened to the Sri Lankan team? Shocking

Just saw that now - shocking indeed. Definitely a lot worse. sad.gif

Isnt the 2011 Cricket World Cup co-hosted by Pakistan? Good luck with that, total joke.

Traffic was flowing over the scene of the crime within 3 hours of it happening, no forensics, no nothing.

Farce tbh.

end of day 2

England 546-6dec (Collingwood 161, Strauss 141, Prior 131)

Windies 92-1

Crucial wicket for Monty, getting Smith before the close, apart from that, its the same dead wicket in the last 2 tests.

What a poor advert for Test cricket this series has been. bbc laugh.gif

For the nine millionth Test in a row, we have posted a big score but our pie chuckers haven't been able to capitalise on it. Windies 314-4 near the end of Day Three.

Totally pissed off mad.gif

What to blame then...

1. Windies groundsmen producing near pathetic bowling wickets to nye-on guarantee draws
2. Andrew Strauss's inexperience as captain
3. No full time coach (i dont care how much he'll cost, BRING IN TOM MOODY NOW!!!!!!)
4. We are just plain shit

...its up to you

Number 5....we have pie chuckers as bowlers. I bet the Aussies would have skittled the WIndies out.

It will take a big turnaround to regain the Ashes this summer sad.gif

Our bowling attack is so unthreatening these days. In my view, to put it bluntly:
Flintoff is our "strike" bowler but he looks past his best.
Harmison and Anderson are poor.
Sidebottom keeps getting injured and only bowls really well in England and New Zealand.
Broad is improving but still not great.
Swann looks decent if unspectacular, but Panesar seems to have lost it.
Arguably our best bowler in the last home Ashes hasn't played Test cricket since then and doesn't look like returning any time soon.
Dorty Mag
WIndies 78-3 at tea, they need another 160 to win, we need seven wickets to square the series.

If the WIndies do win, England may possibly become the first Test side in history to lose a match having declared in both innings. Weird laugh.gif

EDIT: WIndies 85-5, GAME ON!

90-6 huh.gif

What a waste of a referral
Dembas Strawberry Syrup
107-6, 10 overs left

I wish Monty would stop over-appealing to the umpire for even the slightest whiff of a ball hitting the pad.

We've done well though to get 6 wickets, Swann and Anderson have bowled brilliantly

Just as i say that

107-7, Gayle lbw b Panesar

Thats their last recognised batsman gone

I know, 2 wickets needed with just 18 balls left, love to be proved wrong though

Final over now, Anderson is finished now which means England are finished...

...unless Monty can produce some magic

Good effort.

Awful series. Wasn't really a test of talent due to the awful wickets. It was always a test of bat v ball and bat coming on top. Groundsmen should be ashamed.

Agreed - the only anomaly being England bowled out for 51 in the first test. Because of that, the Windies deserved the series. Despite some lacklustre bowling at times from both teams, there was still some quality on show, but it was still a rubbish series to watch.

True, the batting scores have bordered on ridiculous

TOP BATSMEN IN SERIES

1. Ramnaresh Sarwan ........ 626 (an average of over 100 huh.gif )
2. Andrew Strauss ........ 535
3. Paul Collingwood ........ 430
4. Kevin Pietersen ........ 406
5. Alistair Cook ........ 383
6. Matt Prior ........ 310
7. Shivnarine Chanderpaul ........ 299
8. Chris Gayle ........ 292
9. Ranesh Randin ........ 254
10. Brendan Nash ........ 239

I'll still keep thinking back to that 3rd test in Antigua when Strauss waited and waited till the lead reached 500, if he declared earlier back then then i think we'd have seen a different outcome

Rather pathetic from England. Shouldn't have any excuses for that.

windies 17-0 from one over doh.gif
Dembas Strawberry Syrup
un-fucking-beleiveable, if things cannot get any worse, it just is, this is humiliating

By the looks of it at this runrate, the Windies could rattle off the target in just 12 overs, what a laughable disgrace mad.gif
Dembas Strawberry Syrup
Looks like the Windies tour could end on a happy note with a series win, Windies need 56 from just 36 balls

Hat-trick for Freddie. Super bowling. happy.gif

Now he just needs to remember how to bat...

Awesome, Freddie is BACK!!! (well with the ball in hand)

Is it better than this back in the 2005 ashes?, debatable

1 over, 7 balls, 6 of them absolute peaches

ENGLAND WIN BY 26 RUNS AND WIN THE SERIES 3-2!!

Thats just what we needed before we bring the Windies over here for another test series this summer
The Inspiration
I love it when Freddie is at his dynamic best and when the crowd's all behind him. I also remember that over to Kallis last summer - you can just sense something's going to happen. Not sure if it's better than the Ashes over given the circumstances but it's always nice to see Freddie at his best.

Yep he never scores any runs he was 3rd highest run scorer when we won the Ashes in 05 behind KP and Trescothick, now he never scores runs, defo a bowling all rounder with performances like that infact Englands best bowler.
