Well with less than two months remaining till the ashes, England are currently playing a two test home series with the west indies, so far so good, england looking to wrap a 10 victory, newcomers Swann and Onions have been impressive so far.

Nash and Ramdin making a good partnership now but we're still well on top. Been an excellent debut from Onions who I hear is highly rated in Durham and it was great to see Bopara get a century even if he was a little fortunate at times.

swann impressing yet again, dunno about bresnan though, he semms pretty useless, I'd much rather have harmison

We do rate him highly and he's proving himself very well in this test match, his 4 wickets in just 7 balls yesterday was stunning to watch. Would i rate him higher than Steve Harmison? on current form i would.

And as i speak, Windies are all out for 256, England need just 32 to win

I wouldn't go near Harmy these days.

Onions seems to have done well, although he looks capable of being very expensive against a stronger side.

Swann is the number one spinner now. Monty needs to learn a lesson from him - variation!

I think if we were to swap Bresnan with Flintoff - that would be the Ashes strongest line up. Unless Bell continues his good County form and I would replace him for Bopara.

England win by 10 wickets mellow.gif They got the 32 runs they needed in just 31 balls.

MAN OF THE MATCH: Its difficult to pick one, Bopara got a great century in the 1st innings, and Swann got a good game with the ball, but i'll go for Onions for his 7 wickets.

isnt flintoff injured? I would definetly want freddie back in there, and I think harmison should be in for the ashes, he is one of the bowlers the aussies fear. If bopara keeps up his good form he could justify an ashes place, and then bell or vaughan could come in for colly (if he keeps up his poor form)

Ah come on, he was barely given an opportunity with the ball so it's a bit early to deem him 'useless'. That said, the fact he wasn't needed just made him a seam bowler who helped make up the numbers and simply wasn't as good as the reat, instead of being someone who can add something different to the team.

Well the australia squad for the ashes has been announced,(they left out andre symmonds) and I haven't even heard of half these guys, according to the sky commentators the new breed are nowhere near as good as the likes of langer, hayden, warne and mcgrath, so it looks like we have got a chance

R Ponting ©, M Clarke (vc), S Clark, B Haddin, N Hauritz, B Hilfenhaus, P Hughes, M Hussey, M Johnson, S Katich, B Lee, G Manou, A McDonald, M North, P Siddle, S Watson.

Yup, both teams much weaker. We definitely do have a chance even though we won't be favourites.

However, of the lesser known players, apparently that Hughes guy is quaility and he's only 20. Mitchell Johnson is also a very good, fast bowler.

Only 1 spinner - who isn't great. Doesn't get much turn, just a slow bowler.

Get the groundsmen across the country producing good wickets for Swann and Monty... lets take advantage!
