As much as i hate Ferrari's arrogant attitude, im backing them in this stance, they agree witht he budget cap in princicle but they do not agree to these "technical freedoms" allowed to the teams that adhere to the cap. Pretty ridiculous if you ask me.

The only benefit i've seen is that there are up to 7 prospective new teams that are serious about stepping up to join and maybe replace Ferrari, they are fighting for 3 team slots (4 if Ferrari carry out their threat) and here's who they are

US F1: North Carolina based project run by ex Williams engineer Peter Windsor, have ambitions to bring Danica Patrick to F1

PRODRIVE / ASTON MARTIN: David Richards plans to make up for Subaru pulling out of the World Rally by transferring his Aston Martin racing squad from GT's to Formula 1

LOLA: Eric Broadley's famous chassis development company plannign to return for the first time since their epic 1997 failure, have already reportedly approached Irishman Adam Carroll about a possible drive

iSPORT: British based GP2 frontrunning team with big ambitions, waiting for details to be finalised before bidding for an entry

BARWA ADDAX: GP2 Frontrunning team owned by Spanish billionaire Alejandro Agag with ambitions to join F1

SUPER NOVA: Legendary British based GP2/F3000 squad run by David Sears, thye have reportedly enquired to cosworth about an possible engine supply

SUPER AGURI: Aguri Suzuki is reportedly interested to resurrect his team in the new cheap formula but only if Honda is willing to support its effort.

This effectively means that they won't enforce these measures next season. F1 would lose a lot fo interest without Ferrari.

F1 needs the budget cap, thats a given, its just Max Mosley has been an arse and added in the "technical freedoms" which would mean a sort of two tier championship, thats what Ferrari are objecting to.

I dont see why Mosley is not going with the Teams Association's plan of action (non-optional budget cap with no incentives for doing so)

Why? I agree with cost cutting measures but to bring in a cap is ridiculous and I wouldn't be surprised if McLaren join Ferrari in quiting F1 if they continue to push this through. Some teams have more money and more backing than others and as a result usually perform better but look at this season the big 2 aren't anywhere near the top.

Should we start asking Man Utd & Chelsea to start operating to the budgets of Hull & Stoke just to even it up. If we want to get to the point of watching identical cars running round the track we'd watch A1 GP, I don't watch A1 because it's shit.

Bernie and Max seem to be on a mission to ruin F1 and I think viewing figures next year will reflect this, it's about time we got some new faces making decisions to suit the fans. The introduction of Kers has been a farce, either all teams should have it or all teams not have it, the changing of race times made it dangerous for drivers in Australia & Malaysia not to mention the fact they put the Malaysia race on at a time that usually sees downpours every day. The medals idea & now this, I think I will certainly be finding better use for my Sunday's next year.

Just seen Renault, Toyota & Red Bull have also taken Ferraris stance of pulling out if the ruling stands, and as I said in my last post I expect McLaren to join them too.

The last 4 championships have been great, so why did/do they need to change anything, the last 2 have been decided by 1 point.
