Sil, i thought you hated Formula 1 
Anyway, this is a bit of a shock, especially as BMW were an integral part of FOTA that tried to get the budget cap scrapped and later become ofn of 8 rebel teams threatening an F1 breakaway championship.
But this is the danger of letting manufacturers have teams, one or 2 bad seasons and they take the easy way out by quitting the sport, this wouldn't happen with an independent operation who would stay and attempt to rectify the situation until their money ran out.
