By a greyhound?
In 22 years since Ben Johnson the cheating, Canadian version of Chris Eubank set the record at 9.83 it has come down a quarter of one second to 9.58.Pro-rata if "inside 7 seconds" means 6.99 seconds then it won't happen until 2237 but if you meant 7.99 seconds then we'll only have to wait until 2149.
I cannot wait.

The only person who will break Bolt's record in the next 20 years is Bolt himself. He's not human, frankly.
I was in the pub to watch this, at about 80m I said he's gonna break the record. The sound of shocked people when he clocked 9.58... that link you put up is really interesting - it took 12 years for anyone to set a better legal time than Ben Johnson's 9.83 (Maurice Green with 9.79 in 1999), then three years to take a hundredth of a second off that time (Tim Montgomery with 9.78), three years for another hundredth of a second (Asafa Powell), then Powell himself who took the record down to 9.74 two years afterwards. Roughly speaking, all of the changes to the record since Jim Hines in 1968 have been incremental. Bolt has taken 0.16 seconds off the record in two years, incredible stuff.
I saw him running the 200m at Lausanne about 6 weeks ago. Ran the best time of the year, in the middle of a thunderstorm when it was pissing buckets.

Thats a bit OTT mate, the progression of how the world records have gone suggests otherwise
August 2009 - Usain Bolt - 9.58 - Berlin (World Championships)
August 2008 - Usain Bolt - 9.69 - Beijing (Olympics)
May 2008 - Usain Bolt - 9.72 - New York
September 2007 - Asafa Powell - 9.74 - Rieti
June 2006 - Asafa Powell - 9.77 - Gateshead
Now that is recently, Powell's world record broke one that stood for 7 years, it took more than 20 years to cut the world record by a similar amount before that

The favourite for the womens 800m has been withdrawn because she is to have a gender test!

Apparently it takes a few weeks for the results...

There's been rumours about "her" for months apparently, never thought it would get as far as the IAAF asking for a gender test
if indeed she has pulled out, great chance for either or both brits in the final (Meadows & Okoro) to get in the medals

Well "she" won it, and easily too
Meadows got the bronze medal, looks like its turning out to be a decent championships for Great Britain

No world record for Bolt and the Jamaicans in the 4x100 relay, slightly disappointing from them me thinks, still won though
Excellent from the British team in that race though, cracking run to get the bronze medal

2 more medals for the British on the final day today, an excellent pair of silvers in the Mens 4x400 relay and in the Womens 1500metres thanks to Lisa Dobriskey, the latter partially thanks to the Spanish athlete (who finished 1st) getting disqualified for pushing the favourite out of the race
Dobriskey gets Silver
