5-2 to Arsenal with ten minutes to go.

Arsenal could have scored ten today, they've sliced Blackburn's defence to pieces umpteen times. Cesc Fabregas has FOUR assists and scored one himself.

Aye, spellbinding they've been, they certainly know how to rip apart the lesser teams, unlike some team in Manchester that play in red

6-2.............

And robinsons had a good game...........

I think Rovers fans should go home happy that they've only conceded 6, Arsenal really should have been in double figures.

As good as Arsenal were, Blackburn were very poor defensively. They just let the Arsenal front men and midfielders run at them, they backed off and it could have been so many more.

Arsenal's defence wasn't so hot either - Rovers should have had a penalty for the foul on Dunn, and two or three other chances went begging.
As usual Dunn was the engine of the team, he was taken off when they went up 4-2 - I suppose Sam had given up on the game at that point and wanted to protect his prize asset.
But when he went off it was like something had switched off in the Rovers side and in the end it was just damage limitation.
There's nothing better than watching Wenger's teams in full flow, but when it's your own side on the receiving end...

Well I enjoyed the Chelsea game - the first half saw two great teams playing at a fantastic pace, cancelling each other out - not in a boring way - but with top skills matching top skills.
In the second half it became apparent that Chelsea had the edge and the goals came along - great stuff!
Watch out for a similar game when Rovers are down at the Bridge on the 24th!

If ever a game needed a goal, it was chelsea liverpool after the first half yesterday. I'm not sure about "two great teams," I though it was like watching paint dry laugh.gif That said, I watched Preston v West Brom on Saturday and they definitely were both crap laugh.gif

Anyway, Liverpool only came to life when Benayoun came on, he looked the only player capable of unlocking Chelsea but it was too little too late. Gerrard continued his poor form and nothing went right for Torres. Meanwhile, a lot of Liverpool fans are now getting on Rafa's back.

Goals are not the most important thing in football, after all it only takes a second for the ball to go into the net, so even if there's ten goals there's still 89 min 50 secs of play.
Anyway football gets its character from the fact that goals are (usually) few and far between. This enhances the sporting aspect as it's possible for a lesser team to grab one against a big team and hang on for a famous victory.
Big Sam appreciates this and for this reason has expressly forbidden his strikers to score!

Browsing the gossip column, came across this beauty:

"Hull midfielder Geovanni has revealed he snubbed a return to Brazil in favour of pledging the rest of his career to the Tigers, with whom he recently signed a new three-year deal"

Snubbed? Really? Because, of course, in Brazil he'd easily be taking home the same, frankly disgusting sums of money they pay here.....I hope the Hull fans appreciate such "loyalty".....
