You can breathe a big sigh of relief now, yes the Falcons were thumped by Bath today but that bonus point gained last week against Northampton has proved cruicial as Leeds's bonus point defeat at Northampton was not good enough.

It all means both Leeds and Newcastle finish on 23 points but the Falcons stay up due to their superior points difference.



Leeds though might recieve an unlikely reprieve because of tomorrow's championship final between Worcester and Penzance, the latter's ground is nowhere near good enough for the top flight so there will be no relegation if Penzance win tomorow.
