Just thought I'd give a shout for my team Drogheda United.

For those of you who didn't know (Almost all of yous) , my local team Drogheda nearly went bankrupt this time last year. The whole team left, and we were broke. What a fantastic achievement it is for us to stay up. This team was thrown together only a few weeks before the season started, with no pre season, and most of them coming from the 1st division.

James Chambers is good enough to play centre mid for the Toon. What a player!! There's a former Newcastle United and Geordie player on the team too. Guy Bates is his name, although he never got past reserves for the Toon.

So whats the state of the club, gonna be another struggle next season?

PS. When does the irish league run from and to??

Last time i checked, they run a summer season like in Scandinavia and Russia

Anyway, congrats nav, considering the circumstances, its one hell of an achievement

Oh my local lot won again last night too, 5 wins in a row, now only 7 points behind Whitley Bay with a great chance of promotion to the Unibond League

The club is now owned by the fans and will have a restricted budget, but at least this means no debt.
