Bangladesh reached 260 for this morning.
Five of our bowlers averaged more than 5 runs an over. Tredwell 0-52 from 10!
Shouldn't we have taken a leg-spinner?

32 needed from 26 balls or England lose to Bangladesh

Which would be highly embarassing

Morgan sees us through to victory and scores a ton as well.
But he didn't seem to celebrate his century! Bizarre

England win with 7 balls to spare. Morgan with an beaten century saves our blushes
Great finish

Think he said he didn't even realise it was his century. Fantastic knock though - great to see another talented, young, 'English' batsman.

Much better from Pietersen today and a great knock from Cook

Playing a defensive shot - the irony

Fine start to the series. I know it's only Bangladesh and all that, but it's great to see Cook and especially Pietersen getting runs.

Left arm spinner again, though.

We're making hard work of this. I can't help but feel that we should have taken Panesar to Bangladesh - we're crying out for a left arm spinner

England are struggling to avoid a draw. Why take Steven Finn rather than a left arm spinner? He's barely been used.
Even if we had taken a left arm spinner only as part of the squad, it would have given KP some net practice against left arm spin.
Tredwell is struggling and Swann can't be expected to do it all himself

Find it hard to get myself motivated about a test series in Bangladesh - apologies to Bangladesh (the Tigers?). It's on at a slightly odd time before I've got round to thinking about cricket, and tbh it seems mostly to be just about how long Bangladesh can hold out before England get them all out. Long term, they could be a real force in the game - hopefully series like this will allow them to build up their infrastructure, perhaps more importantly they'll start getting players playing in Indian cricket. It would be good for the game if a fourth team from the subcontinent started to compete regularly.

At this juncture, can I just say, I have been harping on about getting Bresnan into the side all summer.
That is all
