Would you take £3 million for Vukic? Isn't he just what we need? I a skillful, athletic, attacking midfielder? Give him a go I say...

I agree, he is worth a chance and might have had more input this season if injuries hadn't precluded him

If they pay £7m for Smalling, I'd only take £10m+.

There's another rumour about Jack Wilshere on loan. He's a decent young player, but Vuckic has a year less and arguably a bigger reputation. What I don't want to see is us signing journeymen players who hinder the starts for talent like Vuckic, Kadar and Ranger.

Little late for that isnt it?

There is every chance that we won't ever see the likes of Vuckic, Kadar, Ranger or even the younger lads ever breaking through, we just don't seem to be that sort of club.

This was the ideal opportunity to give the likes of Ranger and Vuckic a chance and we have barely seen either.

I don't think Ranger is good enough and I think the manager agrees. Why else would he bring in Best in January? Kadar is clearly rated by the NUFC staff and I think he'll get more chances next season. Vukic would have played more had he not been injured for most of the season but I think £10 million is fantasy money for a 17 year old with 3 senior games under his belt. He'd be silly to go anywhere at the minute to be honest as I think he will get chances here next season. He'd not get that anywhere else (Man U, Milan etc).
N`LouisNUFC
Isn't Vuckic more of the typical no.10, who likes to come deep, get on the ball and play in the hole? Anyway, heard great things about him, but he's been injured all season, so not sure how Man Utd could have built an opinion on him after very few games. Smalling went for over £10m by the way, with lots of add-ons to come, so Vuckic £3m is too low.

but Smalling has actually played Premiership football. Vukic has played 3 senior games for a Championship side. Don't get me wrong, I think he's a great prospect but I don't think we can ask £10 million plus for him.

ive heard the yobo rumour. and he seems to be out of favour at everton now. i think taylor is sure to move on in the summer. the fact that everton have been linked with him in the past works quite nicely i suppose.

also senderos was mentioned in some paper a week or so ago

2 decent experienced centre backs, to add to colo and williamson.

So why not get him then for a small fee then? Why wait a few years, in which he has played only in the academy and the reserves, then been out for 6 months and now then are willing to spend £3m + ...?

....which, in April, it won't - tis the season for unsettling rumours and contract negotiations. Yobo to Newcastle because we actually want or need him, or Yobo to Newcastle to drum up interest everywhere else and remind the rest of the Premiership that he could be signed for a low fee - but high wages. Agent says kerching.

I don't think anyone over 25 will join this football club. In Colo, Jonas, Smith, Nolan, Barton we have enough "experience". I would expect a slightly "better" return than January, but doubt anyone will foresee who is going to join. The rumours for the next month or two will be primarily agent press releases with ulterior motivation - Charlie Austin being a good case in point.

The Puyol for Taylor story is shocking, i almost spat up my breakfast when i read that. You read so many of these crazy rumours that you wonder how people keep making them up. Do you reckon there are journalists across the world who just sit in their front room with two hats, one full of player names and one full of club names and just randomly pick them out to make rumours.

Well....in my first attempt i came up with Simon Davies from Fulham to Parma. Lets get the ball rolling.

That rumour made my morning. Where did it actually come from? Was it louise taylor? It certainly seems inept enough to have been.

Jonjo Shelvey to Liverpool for £1.7m. A player we've been linked with a lot.

Nice one - will either be in the reserves for the next x years or he will get a couple of games at the start of the season, somehow piss Rafa off and thus be replaced by some Spanish reject.

If Shelvey wants to rot in Rafa's reserves then thats up to him. Hope he enjoys it

End of the day, Liverpool put the money there, put the offer there, for a talented youngster. You wanna point a finger, turn it back to Hughton/Ashley; if their message is compelling enough and their offer realistic enough, the player should come. Chances are Hughton doesn't even know his budget yet, let alone what he's going to do with it.

Rafa's moved quickly, because he needs to steal a march. So do we, and hopefully we will - time will tell..

Don't be daft. Liverpool or Newcastle? Not a hard choice for a confident and talented young footballer. He's not going to Liverpool thinking he'll rot in the reserves... he's going because he believes he can force his way into the side.
