Totally agree Hotts, not a very dignified reaction from the Dutch. Of course nobody likes losing a World Cup Final but I really dont see how they can have any compliants really.

I think their main gripe with the goal was more the fact that about 2 minutes earlier they should clearly have had a corner when Sneijders freekick was clearly deflected wide off both the wall and the keeper but at the end of the day if you dont get that decision you get back on with the game, its not like it directly gave Spain a goal, it was some very poor Dutch defending that did that.
Yeah just seen that, but like you say, it was just a corner. That happens every now in games and you just get on with it.

the dutch are dislikable on a lot of levels
personaly ive never forgiven them for cheating us out of the 1994 world cup. koeman should have been off the park, and then has two attempts at scoring the free kick that buried us.
riijkaards disgusting gob on voeller. you can laugh at it occassionally, but lets be honest - its fucking disgraceful really. i still have no idea why voeller was sent off.
and bergkamp. great player - but im sorry - the goal against us it was a fluke. and i can take a ball down from a 90 yard pass aswell. its actually quite easy. crafty with his elbows too. always seemed to get away with it.
van nistelrooy. horse faced twat.
and their smoking ban is a ridiculous idea.
the only country i despise more is argentina. theres a lot of water under the bridge with germany. i dont mind the germans at all.

a petty rant. but i feel better.

may i point out is was a GERMAN ref who did not send off koeman or give us the spot kick.

I was playing Pro Evo this morning and I got beat 4-1...by a German blush.gif

Unlike our England heroes, I didn't deserve the defeat but the fella I was playing sent me an unsolicited text bragging, "4-1, the nightmare lives on." mad.gif

Now I normally accept defeat graciously laugh.gif but when someone adds insult to injury by sending said text, I feel it is one's patriotic duty to WUM him back dry.gif

"5-1 in Munich"

"Bomber Harris rules"

"Tell me your address and I'll get the RAF to bomb your house"

"Thomas Muller is quality but you (the German I played) are a fickin pimmel"

Yes all stupid and childish comments from me but it had to be done wacko.gif

I was playing football (in the loosest sense of the word possible) in the park today and some drunk guy told me I was Thomas Muller. I felt very insulted.

How dare he compare me to a German.

Gala's WC predictions in the pub sweep:

5 group winners correct, I predicted Spain to win it and Villa to be the top scorer.

Probably will be a Dutch win with Sneijder scoring.

Later today when I sober up I will be playing in a golf comp with 27 other lads. It is an annual comp we play at Castle Eden and just in case Dorty Mag forgot it's the same course and annual comp that Alan Shearer played in front of us 2 years ago when he gave it a big slice and a big "fore" on the first tee in front of 20 odd mackems. wacko.gif

Never mind Gala will be collecting £70 for winning the WC predictions comp and who knows he may hit a 90 and walk away with the trophy.

Big Al tells a slightly different story laugh.gif

He reckons the mackem group were trying to put him off his shot on the tee. He swung, someone shouted "Fore" to which Big Al shouted "One."

The mackems remembered and immediately knew Big Al would better any of their scores.

He will probably just wait until we qualify for the next tournament with him contributing fuck all and then decide he wants to play again.

Jamie Carragher is a cunt, nothing more nothing less, i hope Gallas breaks his legs in the opener this season.

Heskey was no where near being one of the worst players for us in the world cup, its all good and well retiring but really we lack a support striker in England who can do the donkey work for the "goal scorer".

Beckham is still the one player who can actually make things happed, good news is that he hasn't retired from international football. Milner did a good job, despite my normal dislike for him, i'd be tempted to replace Gerrard of Lampard with Milner and get Becks back out on the right for some consistant service.

What's all this about England getting to the semis or even the final?
I somehow doubt that they'll even get out of the group stage.
The spine of the team - Rooney, Gerrard, Ferdinand, Terry - is broken.
We haven't got a decent goalkeeper, right back, leftwinger and while there's a good choice of players on the right, none of them are anywhere near world class.
None of the teams in England's group are weak and any of them could be capable of taking points off Capello's men.
If they do manage to squeeze out of the group they're sure to get knocked out in the next game. smile.gif

I just thought I'd bump this before the thread disappears.

Anyone else sick of hearing about this "Capello Index" story??

I can partly understand the concern about it but just feel its another thing the players can probably use to deflect attention away from their shite performances in the World Cup.

At the end of the day the ratings seem pretty much spot on to me - they were all shit, think they should just accept that get on with it and maybe try their hardest to improve their Capello index rating!!

I agree, the point everyone's getting at though is his respect in the dressing room because of his index, some players might now have the mentality of "why should i respect him if he thinks im shit? I refuse to play until he's sacked"

Players should'nt be going in with that attitude anyway but it is a worry.

The thing is though its rating a players performance over a number of games, its not making a snap decision on whether Capello rates them generally - its like any other kind of stats that are in use at most top clubs like Opta etc.

Just seems something else the players can use to hind behind and try push the manager into the firing line.

The Capello indexes for all the players looked pretty much spot on for me - everybody knows they all played shit and if they dont know that themselves then I would hope they dont get picked again.

Of course maybe this type of analysis shouldnt be made public but I for one think its good to see how Capello thinks they performed. Like I say if they dont want a shit Capello index rating then they should pull their fingers out and play better laugh.gif

Clever. Presumably they didn't think he was the man for the job but didn't want to face the fan reaction if they sacked him.
