I like Roddick. At just about any other time in history he'd have won Wimbledon but Federer is too good.

lucky there is a weclome distraction from the world cup

We are underway, Federer first on Centre Court, john McEnroe's voice reminds me of summer!
Black country toon
Somehow Federer's lost the first set of his first round match. Drama already at SW19.
Black country toon
Unbelievable. Federer two sets down in his opening match! swoon.gif
Black country toon
wow! what a match, never thought a first round match could be so exiting. brilliant stuff!

Longest game in tennis history at the moment between Isner and Mahut. 2 sets each, final set is currently 36-36. Lasted 7hrs 10mins so far.

Still going, 44-43 now.
Black country toon
just come back after watching the england game, I had to hit myself after reading 46-46 in the final set 8 and a half hours, unbelievable!
Whitley Mag
49-50 now and the scorebarod crashed.
Black country toon
I came back early to cheer on ghana, but can't take my eyes off this match, incredible effort form both guys, novak djokovic said every player is watching this match in the locker room, amazing!
N`LouisNUFC
This will go until tomorrow. Neither have the energy to play well enough to break their opponent.

53 - 53.
Some like it Hottiger
I honestly couldn't work out what this score was when I got in. I thought - hold on, what, 49-48 in the tie-break? But why would they go to a tie-break if it's only 2-2?

Hold on...

No, it can't be 49-48 in games.

roll.gif

10 games further on, this is getting a bit silly. laugh.gif
Black country toon
Still a first round match too, Isner looks exhausted, poor guy but he still managed to rain down the aces, only 3 more needed to get to triple figures, he's got more aces than there usually are points for any given player in a single match.
Black country toon
Wondered who this commentator was, apparently it's his first ever game for the BBC and he's been there 9 hours, great effort!
Zoolander
fucking rididculous. 58 games all

59-58 to Isner now, that is just ridiculous

EDIT: 59-59 and its finally over for the day after exactly TEN hours
N`LouisNUFC
Play suspended. 10 hours. 59 - 59.
Black country toon
Poor guys, give them some food and sleep, and back for more tommorow!
Dembas Strawberry Syrup
Just looked at the stats, before today, the world record for most Aces in one match by both players was 51...

...well they've well and truly smashed that record, these 2 have hit a total of 192 blink.gif
Black country toon
did anyone get to 100? they didn't show the latest figures.
totally forgot about the football, until now and germany it is!

good article. they've been put on court 18 again but they're 3rd on which gives them a bit more much needed rest, hopefully they can both get their aces count to triple figures before the match is out.

Isn't the winner meant to play their next round match later today?

they were supposed to if their match finished yesterday, but it won't be played today now, isner was also meant to play doubles yesterday not sure wahts happening about that. it's still a first round match so the loser will get about 50p, which seems extremely harsh. john mcenroe says they should introduce a tie break 5th set aswell, which would take away the drama, but I do agree that 59 all is way too far, maybe a tie break at 15 all?

first time in 33 years actually, all the crowd were waiting to see her, whatever people say about the monarchy, it's definitely adds something to the tournament, especially with Murray on centre with the mahut-isner match still going.

You can see by the reaction form the fans and players alike, that the Queen at wimbledon is something they want to see. she's certainly not doing any harm by bring there, and it's something everyone there will never forget.

In my opinion, the royal family are doing harm just by continuing to exist.

You can carry on being a sycophant if you like, but I prefer my figures of authority to get there on merit, not because they were born into it.

So the lad in the deciding set was getting shit loads of abuse, gobbed and quit.

Shame on the fucking immigrant types for spoiling the match, shame on the gobber for being a quitter and shame on Yella for being a dumbfuck. smile.gif

Murray through again in straight sets, I've gotta say he's been the most convincing player in this years tournament so far. he will play Tsonga next and a semi-final looks likely.
