From what I saw just now on SSN it looked like a relatively small number of chavs acting big licks chucking stuff over a fence - cant see that having much of a bearing on the decision, every country in the world has a select small number of knobs.

The footage I saw was hilarious as most of the stuff the fucking retards were throwing over the fence presumably at Villa fans wasnt even clearing it doh.gif

True but we all know Fifa's and Uefa's attitude with English football, they nearly always kick off at the slightest scuffle or controversy.

You may think different but i've just got a bad feeling that it may have an affect in tomorrows vote.

Oh yeah dont get me wrong mate I wouldnt put it past FIFA but I just cant see some minor isolated trouble having a bearing - i think we lost the world cup bid a long time ago.

Aye, I think it was that trouble in Marseille before the game against Tunisia at France 98 which cost us any chance of getting toe 2006 World Cup

Have to say Yella I think I only must have caught the end of the trouble on SSN last night as I saw the full report this morning and it was a lot worse than I first thought in terms of the flairs being thrown etc.

Still dont think it will effect the bid but not good to see nonetheless.

What a bunch of tough guys those Birmingham arseholes were last night.

They soon ran when the old bill lined up and started wielding their batons. There must be quite a few with sore legs this morning because I counted a number of them being walloped by the plod on their shins.

Wouldnt suprise me if the Police are more likely to get in trouble for that rather than people being done for the violence doh.gif

I knew Ipswich would instantly improve once the dogwanker left laugh.gif
General Lee Speaking
Great performance and deserved 1-0 lead going in to the 2nd leg for Ispwich. Would be great to see them in the final.
Dembas Strawberry Syrup
WOW, Never knew Carlton Cole would be capable of anything like that, WHAT A F*****G GOAL!!
Dembas Strawberry Syrup
Total turnaround, Birmingham now level 3-3 on aggregate (2-1 on the night)

About 10 minutes left, ET is possible
Dembas Strawberry Syrup
Birmingham have hit the post twice in the last 5 minutes and missed an open goal too.

Rob Green's playing an absolute blinder too.

FT: Birmingham 2-1 West Ham (Agg: 3-3)

Just really wish one of these years we actually took that competition seriously when you see some of the dross that gets to the later stages.

Well we did take it seriously this year, we just got a stinker of a draw and then Arsenal put out a far stronger team than everyone expected

And playing our reserves may well have helped us beat the Mackems 5-1 the following weekend. wacko.gif

True, I remember all the criticism Hughton got for fielding that team against Arsenal, the derby match days later was total vindication

We clearly didnt take it seriously this year Yella, the team against Arsenal was weak and also played like a weakened team.

errm, the same weakened team that went to Chelsea and won (not to mention that same Chelsea team had the likes of Terry, Anelka, Ferreira and Ramires in the starting XI)

If Arsenal stuck to their original policy for the Carling Cup, we probably would have made a better fist of it, but alas Wenger saw the possibilities after Chelsea and Tottenham were KO'd in the previous round and put out his strongest minus the 1st choice goalie and Fabregas pretty much.

But in the context it doesnt matter, we went on to walk the derby and gain sweet revenge at the Emirates biggrin.gif

The team against Arsenal was far weaker than the one that played at Chelsea - it had Perch, Guthrie and Routledge in it to start with all of whom didnt start at Chelsea.

Its ok saying we beat the Mackems the week after etc but I still think we could have gone into that Arsenal game with a stronger team and less negative attitude than we did.

The fact that we had already beaten a strong Chelsea team at their place makes the Arsenal result even more annoying rather than being some kind of justification.
