Was stewarding at the game.

Wasn't a great game but a good occasion overall. The Porto fans were mad craic. They were drunk out of their minds.

Nice one Nav. Is this the first time Ireland has hosted a European final?

It is indeed Dorts. The biggest sporting event ever in this country (It's bigger than the ryder Cup IMO). It's just a shame that the Queen was over at the same time because it didn't get a lot of publicity in the lead up to it.

Good first half, Barca need to get the ball to Messi a bit more, and here's a stat: Xavi has made 79 passes, 58 more than any Man Utd player.

Best team won, Messi unbelievable, great to see Abidal lift the trophy.

He got cancer early this year, but was back playing a couple of weeks ago, he's said his outlook on life has changed and he wants to give away his money to children and hospitals.

Kids will just spunk the cash on sweets, stickers and heroin. He's be better off just giving it to the hospitals.

It was looking like it could be Man Utd's day after the first 10 minutes but then Barca took control and by the second half if was getting a bit embarassing for Man Utd. Glad to see not too much cheating and diving too.

Absolutely spanked. What a shame. bbc laugh.gif

You can't defend like Man Utd did and not expect to get punished by Barcelona. Some sloppy goals in there, the first and the second. I was taking a piss for the third so didn't see it laugh.gif

Hernandez - I have some doubts about his quality. Yes, he has scored a bagful of goals this season (so shoot me down laugh.gif ) but his general control of the ball leaves a lot to be desired. With his back to goal he struggles and his touch is often far too heavy. He looks clumsy at times. Just thought I'd flag this point up for future reference.

I thought Ferguson waited too long to use substitutes, Carrick and Park shold have been replaced after an hour, both had run themselves into the ground (or maybe it was Barca that did that?)

Overall, Barcelona have the better midfield and the game went the way a lot of people thought it would.

I thought Man Utd were outplayed in the 2009 but last night Barca absolutly took the piss out of them, I worried in the first 5 minutes when Man U seemed to be on top and pressing well but after that it was the most one sided final I've ever witnessed.

Well done Barca wacko.gif unlucky Man Utd roll.gif

£80 won last night and the £20 I lost was refunded by Paddy Power wacko.gif

If Man Utd want to break their recent Barcelona hoodoo, then maybe they need to install the Special One as manager? laugh.gif

I seriously don't get why Sir Alex Ferguson has left the Premier League's top goalscorer on the bench for several months for Hernandez, as well as he's played. Last night he wasn't even on the bench and Owen was ahead of him...

I didn't really care who won to be honest - guess I was kind of supporting Man Utd as most people of my friends I was watching with were, but wanted to see a good game of football most of all and wasn't disappointed. Barcelona destroyed Man Utd, and should have thrashed them.

Great game to watch and fantastic to see them fuckers get spanked - just wish they could have got another consolation as I had Pedro first goal and 3-2 sad.gif

Don't think Hernandez was the problem Dorts, centre midfield is where the issues are for me. I have seen lots of comments from my Manc supporting mates pretty much trying to cover up them getting spanked by saying Barca are unplayable. Sure they are great but did Man U really expect to win that game with Xavi and Iniesta being up against a centre mid of Carrick and Giggs??

There is no doubt Giggs has been a fantastic player and is still doing it in the Premier League against the likes of Bolton, Blackburn, Sunlun etc but Barca are a different level and for me Man U need to invest in some new midfielders as the alternatives to those 2 are even worse in Fletcher and Anderson.

Those 2 and Messi just had so much space to boss that game that the result was just inevitable.

Hate to say it but they need a Tiote type player in there.

Agreed, BBT wacko.gif
That pretty much sums up what I've thought and what I've read.....the Mancs need at least two quality midfielders to beef up their midfield. It would have been interesting to watch Roy Keane play last night - I'm sure he would have let the Barca players know they were in a game. Do keep an eye out on Hernandez though, I'm not singling him out because the service to him wasn't great but let's see if my theory about him stands up.

I ended up watching the game with Ryan Sidebottom. As you do.
