I listened to the game and the 2nd half display was encouraging.. Ranger and Vuckic both got rave reviews. Perch seemed steady on his debut too.

Just seen the goals on SSN.

Sloppy defending from Taylor who gave it away and then Colo and Tavernier who both went to the ball and left the man open.

Good goal from Shola, turned the defender very well and good play with Xisco.

Krul should have done better for their second goal, seemed to just go under him.

Cue the rants about us never ever being able to cut it in the Premiership unless we sign another dozen players or so...? :)

Shame we ended up losing but apparently it was a very exciting game in which we ended up with a disallowed goal and forcing the Norwich keeper into many good saves (going by what I heard).

As for the others, well if we were embarassed during last year's pre season witht hat 6-1 thuming at Leyton orient, then this year it looks like Villa's turn as their first team lost to a Bohemians team made up mostly of their reserve squad

Just got back from the game, awful performance, Norwich made us look like a 2nd division side.

Based on that performance alone, there's no chance Ranger, Vuckic, Best or Tavernier will get any playing time in the Premiership.

On the plus side, Colo, Enrique, Krul & Shola looked good. The rest of the team were pretty poor.

I couldn't figure out the formation, we weren't playing with any wingers though it looked like Ranger was playing on the right hand side of a 3 man attack. Vuckic was playing out on the left, i guess its possible they both supposed to be playing midfield but their natural instincts were to come inside too often.

I would say Burton Albion 4 West Ham 2 was more embarrasing than Villa's result.

The only home friendly of the season tomorrow before the midweek trip to Spain.
