It looks as if Freddie's professional career is all but finished. Perhaps he should have looked after himself a bit better - perhaps it wouldn't have made much difference.

Any way. Thanks for the memories Freddie wacko.gif

The Inspiration
Sad to see this happen to him. He's only 32 after all and could have had several years left in him.

He may have been involved in a silly pedalo incident and his cricket (particularly his batting) declined a lot since the 2005 Ashes.

However, he is still an England cricketing legend and has been not only a great all-rounder, but entertainer and character. He was incredible in the 2005 Ashes victory, constantly on hand to help his team out when they were in a mess.

Cheers Freddie. wacko.gif

Quite simply the best over of cricket i've ever seen anyone bowl, 7 deliveries and all of them (apart from the no ball) absolute unplayable peaches.

Happy memories wacko.gif

Think there's a bit of hype about that over, but no doubt he scared the Aussie batsmen. The main thing is what you always got with Flintoff - the sheer force of his delivery, he was like a steam train. I remember watching a bit of cricket with some Swiss friends in a pub, and even they (who knew absolutely fuck all about cricket) remarked on Flintoff's action, the way that arm comes over like an industrial hammer.

His performances for England with the bat were disappointing after the 2005 series, but his bowling - when he wasn't injured - was still top notch, not often getting lots of wickets but getting important ones. There aren't many players that I really regret retiring for England, but Flintoff is one of them. You couldn't take your eyes off it when he was bowling.
