Gerrard scored two quality goals and johnson and walcott looks like a great left and right wing combination, just need a predator in the box like defoe and we have the makings of a good team.
Ahead of Rooney?

I'd have Bent ahead of Rooney at the minute for England, Rooney hasn't had a decent game for England since we beat Croatia nearly a year ago.
No player has a right to be in the team simply because they are a big name.
I agree with that last statement totally but I think players are allowed to have a few bad games without then automatically being discarded.
I think the problems with Rooney are more to do with the system (or lack of it) around him rather than with Rooney himself.
I like Bent, I think he is a good Premier League striker but I am yet to see anything to suggest that he is an international player. Granted he hasnt played much but when he has played he has been pretty woeful to be honest.
In a 4-4-2 id definitely give him a go playing with Rooney but if we are playing with just 1 up top then for that 1 to be Bent ahead of Rooney is just ridiculous for me.
What counts as 'an international player'? I'm pretty sure he'd walk into San Marino's starting line-up.
He's not exactly set the world alight for England, but he hasn't had many opportunities. He does make good runs I think and his movement cold create space for Rooney. Then again I've seen him lots, but the fact he scored 24 goals in a mid-table side last year suggests he's definitely a better striker than Crouch and Heskey, and probably Defoe also.
Also, what was with the booing for Rooney when he came off? He did not have a bad game and nor should he be singled out for booing after a dreadful World Cup performance from the teamm all round, esepecially when he was clearly unfit.
