I've probably missed a few out but anyway (if you've known any that have said we'll go down, feel free to say who)

Robbie Savage
Andy Gray
Paul Merson
Louise Taylor*
Charlie Nicholas

*not seen if she has but I can probably guess she's got us to go down

This is only because if we do survive, we can laugh at them.

U seem surprised.

We have a worse team than the one that got relegated.

Debatable, but there's no doubt that the standard of the PL has dropped since we went down. Presuming Blackpool go down, we only have to avoid 2 places above that.

Well you'll get to see wee Micky O on Monday, seeing as you've predicted a 5-0 hammering spearheaded by mercenary Michael. happy.gif

I think I saw something from Lawro the other day as well. I'm sure he listed 4 teams, from which 3 would go down and we were one of them.

He may be but to be honest he is not far off. I think it will be 3 from Newcastle, West Brom, Blackpool, Wigan & Bolton, there are a few other shit teams but I think they will probably do enough to stay out of the bottom 3.

wigan west brom and west ham to go down for me
Big Bad Titus
Well from what I saw yesterday Wigan, West Brom will be in trouble and I still think Blackpool will be down there even after yesterdays freak win which was as much down to Wigan being bad as Blackpool being good.

Then I think there is a big bunch of teams including us who could go either way depending on luck with injuries, whether they lose players in the transfer window etc.

West Ham also look dodgy, watched them yesterday and they had "relegation candidates" written all over them, they looked disjointed and clueless.

Blackpool are like us in a way, they rely on team spirit, something Holloway is good at maintaining, they might have a decent shot at staying up if they can stay focused.

So I agree with Zoo, Wigan, West Ham and West Brom to go down with Blackpool staying up by the skin of their teeth.

I reckon Newcastle will go down.

What do the real experts say - the bookies?

Bookies mainly just know about what other people think. They aren't experts at all. If they really were then they wouldn't shorten odds just because loads of people were betting on one team - they would more often than not lengthen them just to fleece the maximum out of the idiots who were betting on them.
Roland Deschain
Joint 4th, with Wolves, behind Blackpool, West Brom and Wigan. Then it's West Ham, Stoke, Bolton and Birmingham. Can't see it being anyone outside of this lot.

Actually Hotts on football most bookies employ statistical modellers to assess "true odds" at a given time to set the initial price and then manage the price according to how the money is flowing in the market but always aiming to achieve a balanced book.

They would never ever lengthen odds if money was going on, they would always shorten and lay the money off elsewhere. wacko.gif

Yeah, mostly because they think that when people are laying lots of money it might mean they have inside information. Also there is a financial risk if a lot of money has been put on one team/horse/whatever, then of course that means they stand to lose more if those people lose. But it still underlines what I'm saying, bookies odds aren't really anything more than weathervanes detecting public opinion, which is mostly clueless.
