Sounds like Henry is a bit pissed off that he couldnt intimidate Barton.....if I was a Wolves fan I'd be a bit pissed off if that was the major part of the gameplan on Saturday....couldnt beat a newly promoted side at home by kicking the shit out of them. But with their manager, what more could they expect? wacko.gif

And full credit on that to Chris Hughton and his man-management wacko.gif Seeing Barton take that free kick which set up Carroll's leveller all but confirmed that no matter what Henry did afterwards, he knew he lost the battle

Over the first 4 games we've seen it all

Man Utd (a): DRIVE: Made a decent fist of the game despite getting overrun by a technically superior team
Aston Villa (h): RUTHLESSNESS: Impressive show of hunger to get more goals against a team going down on confidence and motivation as the game wore on
Accy' Stanley (a): PROFESSIONALISM: A calm and composed performance against determined opponents
Wolves (a): STEEL: Rising above clear bully-boy tactics to grind out a positive result

Wolves' Henry spouting off after the game as well:

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/...oey-Barton.html

Who does he think he is? He must think his first name's Thierry or something. I'd honestly never even heard of him until yesterday. More of the same at our place apparantly. Maybe but I reckon he'll be on the receiving end.

I really hope somebody goes through him in the return game and breaks both his fucking legs. I like a physical and competative game, I think its a vital part of football but that yesterday was just targeted thuggary and what really annoys me is the way it has simply been laughed off whereas had it been the other way around and Barton had been the one putting in challenges like that people would be calling for him to be banned from football and the usual rubbish.

With his reputation he is always going to get wound up etc you can accept that but he was lucky to come of the pitch yesterday with his legs not broken yet because its happening to him its suddenly acceptable.

Shearer boiled my piss joining in with the sniggering on MOTD, I know they hate each other but I was disappointed with him, the rest of them I expected it from although if it was vice versa they would have Barton swinging from the gallows for the approach Henry had.

Agreed mate happy.gif

Fair play to Joey for not really taking the bait.
The Inspiration
Funny how Barton is despised by football fans because he's punched some people in the past, which has nothing to do with those fans at all. Without in any way condoning his actions, the people he assaulted may well have been twats also (we don't know this though). I'm pretty sure it's possible for other players to do disgraceful things without physically attacking people - e.g. John Terry. The fans who should hate him most are the Newcastle fans for the ways he's kept letting us down, but he's stayed clean for a while now and is playing well so that's all we can ask for at the moment. I know it's already been said but fair play to him for not overreacting - many other footballers would have in the same situation.

I didn't see it but I'm not that surprised. Shearer may be a legend but he's never been a particularly nice player or person laugh.gif
