Back to normal on saturday and I think a return to the XI that thumped Villa unless Tiote's work permit is sorted, if so he'll likely be on the bench
Harper
Perch - Coloccini - Williamson - Enrique
Routledge - Smith - Barton - Gutierrez
Nolan
Carroll

Unless anyone picks up any knocks there simply can't be any change to Sunday's team. I think this will follow on from a lot of last seasons away games where we play ugly to grind out a result, I think either a 1-0 win or 2-2 draw.

Cant really see any sense in changing a team that just won 6-0 so id expect it to be the same.
Havent been overly impressed with Perch so far so personally id maybe have R Taylor in there mainly for his delivery and goal threat but like I say I cant see any changes being made.
Certainly think this is a game we can get something from.

The only real problem I've had with Perch so far is his use of the ball - he just hoofs it blindly and loses possession a lot, much like Enrique in his first season. Positionally I've been much more impressed with him since the season kicked off -he's generally in the right places at the right times and tracks the wingers back, putting his body in the way and staying on his feet/not diving in. R Taylor certainly staked a claim for a start after Wednesday night's performance though.

Its probably a bit harsh after only really seeing him play a couple of times but he just looks out of his depth to me and seems pretty reckless, a red card waiting to happen.
Big step up for him like so hopefully he will improve. Like I say i dont particularly rate Taylor but with Carroll up front its worth having somebody with his delivery on the pitch even if defensively he is pretty average.

Thought it was a valid pont tbf. I think it can make a huge difference whether a CB plays left or right side of they two if they are used to playing one side or the other or are left or right footed. I am fairly pedantic though tbf.

Same as the Villa game, only Barton and Smith will sit just infront of the back 4 and Nolan will play more of a midfield roll, leaving Carroll up front on his own.

I wasn't trying to be picky. The others were all in the positions I expected to them to play, so I assumed that was an accurate lineup Yellow was predicting. I also think it can be a big difference which side a CB back plays.

So far Wolves have got 1-1 away at Everton and beaten Stoke 2-1 at home, neither particularly strong results
I would hope if the team can keep the same attitude they showed last week we should have a good chance of picking up all 3 points. I would leave the team exactly as it was for Villa, but strengthen the bench if some of the absentees are fit (Guthrie, Lova)
Wolves are one of the teams we need to take points from if we are to ensure survival in this league

I think the primary aim should of course be simply survival but to be honest from what ive seen from us compared to other teams so far I think the potential is there for us to suprise a few people this season.
Im not saying we will qualify for Europe by any stretch but at the same time I dont think its as ridiculous a notion as some people make out.
I think we are one of a clutch of teams in the league where our season could go one of two ways depending on how lucky we are with injuries etc.

The toon sell out most away games and have done for years. Ashley is basing this on the amount of season ticket holders not applying for tickets and is scared that he will get stung with having to pay for the rest of them. The toon have fans all over the country who aint season-ticket holders plus plenty of local fans who anit too but still go reguarly away. Everton tickets are on public sale now so demand surely isnt there like it used to be. The club has to shell out for tickets and cant return unsold ones, in the current climate I think its harsh to criticise them trying to be prudent and not chuck cash down the drain.

I can understand it in a way. As a non season ticket holder I've always kept my eye open for public sale in the past but it very rarely happens which suggests season ticket holders have nearly always snapped them up, if all of a sudden that demand has gone from season ticket holders then it is a gamble for Ashley to take on a full batch of tickets with no returns accepted. I'd like to see us take the allocations up but on this occasion I think it's slightly harsh on Ashley the criticism over this.

Demand always seems to be lower at the start of the season - I guess due to summer/school holidays and people being away. I reckon, though, with the current economic conditions and the threat/reality of the Tories culling tens of thousands of public sector jobs in the north east that people aren't splashing the cash on football like they did before?

Aye I think they are all probably factors General
To be honest its sensible by the club if demand isnt really there. Its not like its a decision that has been made for the season and cant be changed its obviously done game by game - if demand increases through the season then they can look to take up bigger allocations for the matches.

Carroll's a doubt for todays game after getting a knock in training on Thursday.
If he is out, I imagine the system would have to be changed as Shola or Lovenkrands can't lead the line like Carroll, so the 2 of them will probably play.
