Didnt know which thread to put this in so created a new topic - all about people we loan out.

Forster, apparently had a reasonable game in his first game and a first clean sheet for him of the season. Looking good so far.

Is it just literally a loan for Forster?

I read a rumour somewhere that they wanted a loan with the option to buy for £1.5 million at the end of the season but never heard if that was true or not.

Its obviously good that we have a selection of good keepers but the sad thing is that with only one obviously being able to play we are likely to never really see the best of one of Krul or Forster.

This time next year I seriously expect Harper to be 2nd or 3rd choice - in my opinion Forster should be first choice on the basis he will have had 2 full seasons playing week in week out.

Id certainly like to think 1 of them will get in the first team soon.

Looking at it from another way though surely the feeling is Krul is more ready for 1st team action seeing as he is the one they are keeping and is on the bench to call upon?

If I am honest, I would have Krul as #1 now. This is my only criticism of CH, failure to drop senior players, however, he seems to be doing ok atm, what the fuck do I know. biggrin.gif

Loyalty to players like Butt and Harper is a slight criticism of Hughton, but he hasn't done much wrong so far so I've got to trust him, I'd like to see Krul as No.1 next year, in terms of potential he could be right up with the best in the world, whereas i'm not so sure about Forster.

I think you can understand him going with the experience of Harper last year and to be fair this year too with Harper having a decent amount of top flight experience.

Just hope that should Harper lose form or look past it he has the balls to put Krul in.

2 games, 2 clean sheets, not bad for Fraser
1 game, 1 goal, 1 assist, not bad for Kazenga

Forster has conceded but seeing the goal, nothing he could really do

Saw that Lua Lua was subbed after the hour mark, so possibly not a good day for him?

My mates a Carlisle fan, said he was pretty poor although more to do with not really seeing much of the ball.

Must have been poor in eyes of Gus as only come on off the bench when they were winning

You're probably right about that. From what I've seen of him he's pretty far below the standard needed to succeed at a Prem club. I think if someone had wanted to take him permanently we would have let him go.

I've seen the goal repeated on SSN, very impressive.

He might have a decent future with us after all.

Hmm, doing it for Brighton is one thing.

Certainly think this loan is doing him some good, will be interesting to see if he gets a chance when he comes back.

My feeling from what I have seen is he has maybe found his level.

I know its often pointless to make comparisons but then again, I remember a lot of people writing off Andy Carroll when he had that very poor loan spell at Preston and look at him now doing a good job for us, earned the famous number 9 shirt and having people calling for him to get into Capello's England squad.

Sure Kazenga's playing well against League 1 opposition (his goal today looked great) and also Accy Stanley in the Carling Cup, but I feel he's still worth a punt on that left flank as back-up.

From what I've seen of the two, Shane Ferguson looks a far better bet to break into the first team squad and fill a spot on the LW. He does have a touch of class about him.

Its a pity as I think he might have had something to offer our squad in January - but if he comes back maybe a loan to a championship club for remainding part of the season if poss
